💡 Tip: In most cases, we recommend using the custom merchandising feature in page curation instead of manual merchandising, as it's much more visual to use, and allows A/B testing.

In manual merchandising you can create a grid of pinned products which can be assigned to a category page.

This means you can choose a specific set of products to stay in place on a page, rather than merchandising strategies that select products dynamically.

Note: If you want to make sure two products 'stick together' in your merchandising strategies, e.g. clothing ensembles/co-ords (tops and bottoms that match), you can create a product grouping and apply it to your merchandising blend, rather than use manual merchandising.

Go to: Website personalisation > Merchandising > Manual merchandising

You can search for a grid you've created before, or create a new one.

Create a manual merchandising grid

Select Create a new grid and complete the fields:

Field	Description
Disabled/Enabled	Set this toggle to Enabled once you're ready to set your grid live.
Name	Give your manual merchandising grid a memorable name.
Description	Enter a short description.
Element	Select the page element this grid applies to, i.e. where you want to put the grid on your site.
Columns	Enter a number to define how many columns your grid should have.

Save your changes.

Product sets

Product sets define:

Which products you want to display in your manual merchandising strategy, and;
how you want to display them.

Field	Description
Set name	Give your design set a memorable name.
Starts	Enter the cell number this set should start at.
Size	Enter a number to define the size of this set, e.g. 4 for a set of four products.
Colour	Use this field to help you visualise this design set on the screen. Note: This field doesn't affect the colour of the products displayed on your site, or any other design elements.
Products	Choose your products.

Choose your products

Select Assign products to choose the products you'd like to display in your manual merchandising strategy.

Select the Search tab to find your products by product name, ID, SKU, properties, etc., then drag and drop your product cards into the Products tab:

Select Apply to see your products in the grid, and then Apply again to confirm your choices and save your product set.

Product card details

Product cards in the Assign products window show tags associated with each product, e.g. colour, price, stock:

To change the data displayed for your products, click the cog icon in the top left corner of the window:

Note: This is just for your information, and doesn't affect the way the product displays on site.

Field	Description
Show title	Turn on to display the product's title.
Show SKU	Turn on to display the product's stock-keeping unit (SKU)
Show stock	Turn on to display the number of items still in stock.
Lower threshold	Set the lower threshold for stock.
Upper threshold	Set the upper threshold for stock. This adjusts the colour of the Show stock label - if the stock is below this threshold and above their lower threshold, it displays in green.
Show price	Turn on to display the product's price.
Text colour	Change the text colour.
Background colour	Change the background colour.
Position	Change the alignment of the "Colour" label.
