What’s a cookie?
A cookie is a small piece of data stored on a user's computer by the web browser while browsing a website.
Cookies remember information like items added in the shopping basket, browsing activity, etc.
What are third-party cookies?
A third-party cookie is placed on a website by someone other than the website owner (a third party) and collects user data for the third party.
Most modern web browsers now have privacy settings for blocking third-party cookies. They are blocked by default in Incognito mode, and users can choose to block them in normal browsing mode too.
As of July 2020, Safari, Firefox, and Brave block all third-party cookies by default.
Chrome plans to start blocking third-party cookies by 2022.
These restrictions are not a concern for Ometria clients, as we do not drop third-party cookies.
