How does a customer's email or ID get changed?

Email addresses and customer IDs can change if Ometria receives data with matching values for either of those fields.

For example, if Jane’s contact listing is originally:

• email=jane@example.com
• customer_id=123

And Ometria receives a new contact listing from the API:

• email=janiej@example.com
• customer_id=123

The listings are merged and Jane’s email address is updated to janiej@example.com.
