When Ometria receives information about a contact (e.g. via your website), it attempts to identify them as an existing contact using the following information:
- Ometria’s profile hash, which is appended to the URLs in your Ometria campaign emails to help us identify contacts.
- The customer ID you provide us with.
- The contact’s email address.
- The contact's phone number (if enabled).
💡 You can reach out to your Customer Success Representative to request phone number as an identifier, and to change the priority order for identifiers.
If none of these values match an existing contact in Ometria, a new contact is created using the provided email address and customer ID you provided.
