Before setting up an Attentive audience sync, you'll want to make sure that your SMS marketing preferences are up to date and as accurate as possible in Ometria.
This article explains how to update your contacts' SMS marketing preferences in Ometria.

Export your contacts from Attentive
Get in touch with your Attentive CSM and request an export of your entire database with the following fields:
- Email - this is a mandatory field in Ometria; contacts without email addresses won't be ingested.
- Phone number
- SMS marketing opt-in (true/false)
- SMS marketing opt-in timestamp
- First name (if available)
Format your CSV file using this template.
Use the following formula to quickly re-format your dates:
=TEXT(A1,"yyyy-mm-ddThh:MM:ss")
Upload your CSV to Ometria
Next, log into Ometria and go to Settings > Contact upload.
Select your formatted CSV file and complete the rest of the fields:

Select Only overwrite fields where a non-empty cell is provided to make sure your existing data isn't overwritten. |
Email and SMS Subscription mode |
Select Unchanged to make sure that the email subscription statuses of the contacts in your CSV file stay the same. |
Finally, select the two data protection boxes before clicking Upload.
Once you've uploaded the file, let yourCustomer Success Representative know so that they can give you access to the Attentive audience sync connection.

The CSV file is a template you can use to guide your formatting.
We've also included an XLXS file with tabs and a VLOOKUP
function in column A to help you consolidate your data.
Remember to convert the file to CSV before uploading to Ometria.
