Shopify unsubscriptions

This article explains how to set up a connection with Shopify to send unsubscription data (opt-outs) from Ometria to Shopify.

The process runs every five minutes.

Sending unsubscribes to Shopify

An unsubscribe can be sent to Shopify if:

1. The contact is still unsubscribed at the time of sending (i.e. they have not resubscribed in the meantime).
2. The contact has a customer_id (this must be the contact's Shopify ID).
3. The contact already exists in Shopify.

All three of these conditions must be met, or Ometria can't send the correct data to Shopify.

Before you begin

To set up your Shopify unsubscriptions connection, you'll need:

• Your Shopify subdomain name
• An Ometria API key
• The namespace for your store(s) - your Ometria Technical Projects Manager or Customer Success Representative can provide this information.

Only users with administrator account permissions can access the API keys tab.

Set up steps

In Ometria, go to Settings > Connections > Add new connection:

Select the Shopify Unsubscriptions tile:

Click New authentication:

The Create a new authentication pop-up displays. 

Complete the fields:

You'll be sent to Shopify to authorise the app.

Once installed, it will look like this in Ometria:

Next, complete the Ometria authentication by adding your Ometria API key:

Select Save.

Complete the last two fields:

Select Finish to complete your setup.
