When you choose a saved segment, apply a customer filter, set a date range, or pick a comparison, the Run button becomes active, and a small highlight appears on it as a reminder.
Select Run to load the metrics for your chosen combination.
Two things can happen next.
Your results appear straight away
If the same combination has been run recently, Ometria reuses the result and shows it immediately. You see a small note at the top with the time the data was last calculated, plus the Run button if you want a fresh result.
The report takes longer than ten seconds
If the metrics are not already available, you see a loading state in the KPI tiles while Ometria works out the numbers.
If the report takes longer than ten seconds, a pop-up appears titled This might take a while with the message: "We'll let you know when your segment performance insights are available. You can check the progress in the notifications dropdown in the top right."
You have two options:
- Select Close to send the report to the background. You can carry on using Ometria while it runs. A notification appears in the corner so you know the report is still working.
- Select Cancel to stop the run. The Segment explorer goes back to the last view you had loaded, or to the all-time view if you have not run anything yet.
If you navigate away from the Segment explorer with the pop-up still open, Ometria treats this the same as selecting Close. The segment runs in the background, and you will receive a notification once the insights are ready to view.
Note: if you select Run and then leave the page in the first ten seconds, before the pop-up has appeared, the report is cancelled and not sent to the background. Stay on the page until the pop-up appears if you want the report to continue.
