There are two types of segment in Ometria:
- Static - fixed lists that don't update automatically
- Dynamic - lists that update over time as contacts are automatically added and removed based a set of conditions
Create a new segment from saved segments
Go to: Customer > Saved segments > Create a new segment:
Complete the fields:

Select a type: |

Click this button to set up the conditions for contacts to enter this segment.
Be aware: Once you've created a static segment, you can only edit the name and description, you can't change the conditions after you've saved them here. You will be able to edit dynamic segments.

Click Save.
Note: After saving a segment, it can take a while to generate depending on the complexity of your filters. You can keep up with progress in the saved segments screen.
Create a new segment from the customer filter
You can create a new segment from anywhere in the platform with a customer filter option.
Set up your conditions then click Save as new segment.
Give your segment a title and a description, then select the type:
Save your new segment.
Note: After saving a segment, it can take a while to generate depending on the complexity of your filters. You can keep up with progress in the saved segments screen.
