A sender ID is the "From" number used in an SMS, AKA "sender" or "A number".
This can be a short code or a longer number.
You must have a sender ID before you can start sending SMS from Ometria.
Each country has different restrictions and regulations when it comes to numbers and sender IDs, e.g. in the US a toll free number is preferred, in the UK alphanumeric codes are preferred.

You can choose to override your default sender ID from the SMS builder in your automation campaign:

This means you can use a different sender ID for each segment you send to, e.g. you might want to use a unique sender ID per store.Β
