You can delete custom fields from Ometria if you created it in error, or if you have a legacy custom field you no longer plan to use.
You won't be able to delete a custom field if it's being used in a merge tag or a campaign.
When a field is deleted, all of the data associated with that field is deleted and permanently removed from Ometria.
Permissions
You will need the following permissions enabled to delete custom fields:
- Can create and modify custom fields
Check usage
If a custom field is in use somewhere, e.g. in a template or a campaign, you won't be able to delete it - the option appears greyed out:
Check the Usage tab to see where your custom field is being used and remove it before attempting to delete.
Deleting a custom field
Click the ellipsis button against the field you want to delete and select Edit.
Under Status, select Delete and enter y or Y into the field to confirm your choice.
Click Confirm deletion.
Once the field is deleted, all of the data related to it will be permanently removed from Ometria.
Custom field security
Every time someone creates, archives or deletes a custom field in your account it is reflected in the audit logs.
