When you create a campaign with a combination of channels - e.g. SMS and email - Ometria enters any contacts who are opted-in to either channel.
This means any contact can enter the campaign if they are opted-in to SMS but not email, and vice versa.
However, once the contact reaches a send node they are not opted-in for, they will drop out of the campaign, and can't go any further in the flow.
Example:
👩🏽 - Jane is opted-in to email only and enters a campaign with SMS nodes in front of email nodes.
This means she can't receive the emails in this campaign:
In this flow, Jane is opted-in to email only and enters a campaign with email nodes in front of SMS nodes:
Best practice for setting up a multi-channel flow.
We recommend using segmentation to create opt-in checks for your campaign that filter contacts who enter the flow based on their opt-in status.
Create a segment for each channel, using the relevant 'Accepts marketing' filter:
- Accepts email marketing - which is - opted-in
- Accepts SMS marketing - which is - any/single/double
- Accepts push notifications - which is - opted-in

Then add the corresponding action node to the end of each flow:
Example:
In this campaign, Jane is opted-in to email only, and 👨🏻- Roy is opted-in to SMS only.
We've created two separate segments after the entry wait to make sure they both filter through to the right send node:
