Ometria offers three different levels of abandonment campaign:
- Basket abandonment - when a visitor leaves items in their basket/cart and hasn't checked out.
- Product browse abandonment - when a visitor has browsed a product page on your site without placing an order.
- Category browse abandonment - when a visitor browses a page on your site tagged with a specific category (AKA an attribute) - e.g. ‘dresses’ - and leaves without placing an order or viewing any products.
Staggering your entry wait times
If you're using all three campaign types, we recommend a minimum 35 minute gap between entry triggers.
This will make sure everything runs smoothly and your contacts enter the right campaigns.
💡Ometria counts and closes a visit session after 35 minutes of inactivity. Entry wait times are applied after the session has officially ended.
Recommended entry wait times
| Campaign type | Recommended entry wait |
| Basket abandonment | Minimum of 10 minutes. |
| Product browse abandonment | At least 35 minutes after your basket abandonment campaign. |
| Category browse abandonment | At least 35 minutes after your product browse abandonment campaign. |
Example:
Here’s an example of a staggered campaign setup:
- Abandoned basket: 35 minutes
- Product Browse: 60 minutes
- Category Browse A: 90 minutes
-
Category Browse B:
- 90 minutes (if no hierarchy across categories)
- 120 minutes (if there is a hierarchy, e.g., dresses > shoes)
Category browse campaigns with multiple categories
If you don't need a specific order for your categories in multi-category browse abandonment campaigns (i.e. it doesn't matter which category a contact triggers first), you can set these campaigns to trigger at the same time.
If you do want to establish a hierarchy in your category browse abandonment campaigns (i.e. prioritising certain categories over others), you should either:
- space them out by at least 35 minutes, or;
- include all categories in the same campaign as separate segments.
Example:
- Category A = 90 minutes
- Category B = 120 minutes
- Category C = 150 minutes
- Etc.
