Use search suggestions to control which results appear first when a site visitor enters an incomplete search.
For example, if a visitor starts typing “sho” and presses enter before finishing “shorts”, the search might show shoes instead.
You can use search suggestions to make shorts appear before shoes, or to manage other common mix-ups.
You can also stop certain words from appearing in autocomplete suggestions.
Overrides
Use Overrides to create a list of words that take priority in autocomplete suggestions.
As a visitor types, Ometria checks whether their input matches the start of any word in this list.
If it does, that word becomes the suggested result.
The order of the list sets the priority. You can drag and drop items to change it.
If the entered text doesn't match anything in the list, the system falls back to the normal search behaviour and chooses the best match from your search index.
Exclusions
Use Exclusions to remove specific words from autocomplete suggestions.
If a word appears in this list then the search won't guess ahead to that word as the user types.
Priority is determined by the order, drag and drop to change priority.
Only single words are valid in the exclusion list.
