This page explains how to retarget contacts on Facebook if they aren’t opening their automated emails.
Before you start you should have a Facebook Sync set up.
Add non-openers to a static segment
Go to the automation flow you want to retarget.
After the last email node, at the end of the flow, add the following condition:
Contact has… opened the last email:
If Yes, leave the flow as is, if No, add an action node: Add contact to static list.
You can add these contacts to an existing segment, or create a new one, e.g. Abandoned basket Facebook retargeting.
Add a wait time, e.g. 7 days, then another action node to Remove contact from list.
Sync your static segment with Facebook
Go to Customer > Saved Segments and locate the static segment you used for non-openers in the previous steps.
From the Settings dropdown, select Sync:
Sync the segment to Facebook:
Exit contacts who place an order
If a contact places an order during the wait period (while they are being targeted via Facebook), they will leave the automation flow (if you have the ‘has placed an order’ exit condition set up), but not the static list.
To stop contacts that have placed an order from being retargeted, create a new automation flow with the following conditions:
Entry trigger |
The contact has placed an order. |
Segment conditions |
Belongs to segment which is… (select the static segment you are using for retargeting). |
Action |
Remove contact from static list. |
Save and Publish your campaign.
