List of product IDs fields – Ometria Help Centre

The custom field type List of product IDs holds a list of products for each contact, such as their wishlist or favourites. Each value in the list is a product ID or SKU.

You use this field with a product selector block. Each recipient then sees the products from their own list in your email.

Availability: List of product IDs fields are part of a controlled rollout and need to be turned on for your account. Contact your Customer Success Representative to find out if this is available to you.

Create a List of product IDs field

Create the field in the same way as any other custom field:

Choose Contact as the field category. This type isn't available for order or order line item fields.
Choose List of product IDs as the field type.

Note: You can't use List of product IDs fields for segmentation.

Show the products in an email

You can only use a List of product IDs field in a product selector block. Add a Specified products from custom field block to your template in the visual editor.

In the block settings, you can choose the field, the products, or both:

Field only: choose your List of product IDs field from the custom field dropdown. Each recipient sees the products in their own field.
Products only: add products under Fallback products (optional) without choosing a field. Every recipient sees the same products.
Field and products: choose the field and add fallback products. If a recipient's field is empty, they see your fallback products instead.

Drag the fallback products to reorder them. Ometria uses the products at the top of the list first.

How Ometria fills the block

For each recipient, Ometria fills the block with the products from their field when the email sends. It uses product data from the recipient's home store.

Ometria fills a slot from your fallback products when:

The recipient's field is empty, or has fewer products than the block has slots.
A product in their field is no longer active or is out of stock, depending on your campaign's product filters.
A product in their field isn't available in the recipient's home store.

Limits

Each block shows up to 12 products.
Only List of product IDs fields appear in the block's custom field dropdown.
You can add more than one Specified products from custom field block to a template. Each block can use a different field.
The block works in both broadcast and automation campaigns.
When you first add the block, the visual editor shows a placeholder. Save the template to see a preview with product data from a sample contact.
