In Ometria, Automation and Broadcast campaigns support filters that control which products are displayed within certain product blocks.
These filters allow you to exclude:
- Inactive products – products that are no longer active.
- Out-of-stock products – products that are currently have no inventory.
Filter Support by Block Type
The table below shows which product blocks support each filter.
| Block Type | Active vs. Inactive filter support | Out of stock filter support |
| Product selector | No | No |
| Specified Products | Yes | Yes |
| Custom field based Product Selector | Partially – filters only apply to custom products, not fallback products | Partially – filters only apply to custom products, not fallback products |
| Custom field based Specified Products | Yes | Yes |
| Basket blocks (abandoned basket, browse, post-purchase) | Yes - Only for Automation | Yes - Only for Automation |
| Price drop | Yes - Only for Automation | Yes - Only for Automation |
| Product recommendation blocks | Yes | Yes |
Configuring Product Filters
Filter settings can be configured for both Automation and Broadcast campaigns. However, the way these settings are accessed differs depending on the campaign type.
Automation Campaigns
For Automation campaigns, the filtering options are available within the individual campaign settings.
Both filtering options are disabled by default and must be selected if you want them to apply to the campaign.
Broadcast Campaigns
For Broadcast campaigns, the filtering options are displayed within the campaign settings only when Specified Products blocks and/or Custom field-based product blocks are enabled.
Product Block Rendering Behaviour
What happens when a product block has no products to display depends on the block type and campaign type.
The table below outlines the expected behaviour for each block type:
| Block Type | Broadcast | Automation |
| Product selector | Hides block and sends email | Hides block and sends email |
| Specified Products | Hides block and sends email | Hides block and sends email |
| Custom field based Product Selector | Hides block and sends email | Hides block and sends email |
| Custom field based Specified Products | Hides block and sends email | Hides block and sends email |
| Basket blocks (abandoned basket, browse, post-purchase) | N/A | Recipient is removed from the email campaign |
| Price drop | N/A | Recipient is removed from the email campaign |
| Product recommendation blocks | Hides block and sends email | Hides block and sends email |
Basket and Price Drop blocks are event-driven and therefore only applicable to Automation campaigns.
Important
For product blocks where filtering results in no products being available, the email will still be sent with the affected block hidden.
For Basket and Price Drop blocks in Automation campaigns, if no products are available, the recipient will exit the email campaign instead.
