See Email engagement bands in Ometria for the non-beta engagement logic.
Engagement bands
Ometria's beta customer engagement bands are:
- No engagement
- New subscriber
- High
- Medium
- Low
Calculating the engagement score
A contact's engagement score is calculated based on the following interactions over a period of 180 days:
- Human opens
- Clicks
- Website visits
- Orders
Each of these metrics is weighted differently, and the overall score determines which engagement band the contact falls into.
If a contact has not engaged in any way for 180 days, they are considered unengaged and are assigned to the No engagement band.

The engagement score is not calculated until the contact has been subscribed for four weeks - until then, their engagement band will be ‘New subscriber’.
Dynamic segments update every 24 hours (or every six hours, if they are used in an automation flow), and engagement bands are recalculated every 24 hours, so changes might not be immediately reflected.
Excluding unengaged contacts
To exclude unengaged contacts from broadcast campaigns using this logic, use the Unengaged (human and website interaction) option in the Exclude contacts dropdown.
