Ometria doesn’t associate all visits to contacts, but we do collect events for all visitors.
These events are reflected in the Visits KPI in the Overview dashboard as well as Page views, which we count for all visitors including unidentified contacts (i.e. contacts for whom we have no associated email address).

When contacts who already exist in Ometria visit your website, Ometria can identify them in the following ways:
Through email
Contacts who click through an Ometria campaign email to your website are identified using their Ometria ID, which means they can be identified on multiple devices, e.g. smartphones and tablets.
From the moment a contact clicks a link in an email to your website, we track the session for up to 12 months using Ometria’s cookie.
Re-identifying contacts
When a returning contact comes back to your website Ometria’s first-party cookie re-inflates, meaning the contact can be re-identified.
New identification
If a new contact arrives at your website Ometria can identify them based on any of the email address input fields on your site, e.g. account logins, acquisition forms, etc.
Once identified, Ometria drops a cookie which means the contact can be re-identified on their next visit.
