Removing contacts from static segments

To bulk remove contacts you can also use an API call (using the Push endpoint), or you can create an automation flow.

Remove contacts from a segment via automation campaign

First, you’ll need to create a static segment specifically for removing the contacts you’d like removed:

Save the segment. You only need to create the segment, don’t add any contacts to it yet.

Next, go to Automation campaigns > Create new campaign

Set up your campaign as follows:

Now add a second Remove contact from static list action immediately after the first one, this time selecting the same segment you used in your entry trigger:

This 'cleans up' the trigger segment, which you can archive once you've finished this process and use again next time you need to bulk remove contacts from a segment. 

Save and Publish your campaign.

Now you’ll need to upload the contacts you want to remove from your segment to the new static segment you created. You can do this via CSV or API.

When the contacts enter the new segment, they will also enter the automation campaign you just created, and the flow will remove them from your original segment.
