Auto generated coupon pools don’t run out, because they're not dependent on a finite list - they are generated when added to automation campaigns.
Coupon codes aren't used in testing mode - Ometria uses a placeholder instead (e.g. XXX123) so that your pools aren't depleted.

To set up an auto generated coupon pool, go to: Campaigns > Coupon pools and select Create a new coupon pool > Unique code auto generated
Depending on whether you use Shopify or Magento, you'll see slightly different fields.
Magento settings
Complete the fields under Settings:
Field | Description |
Coupon pool name | Give your coupon pool a name you'll be able to easily identify later, e.g. Welcome campaign 2023 |
Magento sales rule ID |
Get this from your Magento account. See also: Coupon pools importer sales rule ID |
Magento coupon expiry in days |
Enter the number of days a coupon code will remain active.
Expired coupons aren't used in emails, and we recommend using the hide block feature to exclude blocks containing expired coupons. |
Pool quantity |
This is the number of coupons Ometria will maintain for this pool. You only need to enter a value here if you plan to use this pool in broadcast campaigns. E.g. If you enter 100,000 here, then send the coupon to 75,000 contacts, Ometria will automatically replenish 75,000 coupon codes.
Warning: If your pool quantity is more than 1,000,000 please allow at least 30 hours to create your coupon codes, particularly during peak periods. See also: Magento and Shopify coupon code creation process and timings
|
Prefix (optional) |
You have the option to give all of your coupon codes in this pool a matching prefix. E.g. VIP for VIP campaigns might look like VIP-2DFLK349F09I3 |
Length |
Define the character length of your coupon codes. There is a minimum length of six characters - this is to make sure that you can generate enough unique number combinations for your broadcast campaigns. This should match your length settings in Magento. |
Add a dash every | If you'd like to separate your coupon codes to make them more readable, e.g. a dash ever four characters would look like: Q340-98SF-JKWS |

Shopify store |
For Shopify users with multiple Shopify stores. Select the store this coupon pool applies to.
Note: Stores are not linked to contacts, which means that a contact can potentially receive two coupons from two separate stores. To make sure the right contacts get the right coupons, we recommend that you build segments into your campaigns based on each of your Shopify stores.
