Import contact language from Shopify
Why?
Before now, Shopify users couldn't send their contact language from Shopify to Ometria - though we did collect language information from the visitor's browser.
What's new?
Shopify now sends contact language to Ometria, meaning you can use this data to create segments and send more effective multi-language campaigns.
Update contact in automation campaigns
Why?
To give you more flexibility with your data, allowing you to enhance and personalise your marketing messages.
What's new?
The Update contact data action node in automation campaigns allows you to update custom fields on contact records:
Contacts who pass through that node will have the corresponding custom field updated.
See: Update contact data
You can also update custom fields via CSV upload, API, Ometria form and third party integration - the most recent update from any source always takes priority.
Merge tags
You can use merge tags to update contact custom fields with dynamic data, e.g. {{ now }} to update the field with the current timestamp.

Self-serve data export - removing injection events from the email events export
From 15th November 2023 Ometria won't include injection events in the email events export.

An injection event occurs when Ometria sends an email to SparkPost, our email sending service.
If you were using this data in your reports, you can still calculate it by adding together the totals for:
These event types represent the current status of an email.
An email can change states over time, e.g. a delayed email could become delivered. In this case, to get a unique total of all emails sent to SparkPost, you should deduplicate using the uuid (universally unique identifier).
Improvements
We've also made these improvements to your experience:
- You can now use AND/OR filters in all customer filters (segment builders) in Ometria, including the broadcast campaign builder
- We've updated our audience sync with Attentive to make sure it runs faster with fewer errors
- The Contacts tab in the Segment explorer now loads five times faster than before!
