Mini overlays are small pop-ups that display discreetly on your website to capture visitor attention without interrupting their browsing experience.
How it works
When a website visitor clicks on your mini overlay it 'maximises' to the size of an ordinary overlay.
If a visitor starts typing in any of the fields and minimises a mini overlay again, the data is saved and will display when they maximise it again.
Closing vs minimising
Visitors can either minimise the overlay by clicking the minimise buttom ( - ) or close it completely by clicking the close icon ( X ):
Enable mini overlay
See: Create a new website overlay
You can define any overlay as a mini overlay in the content and style screen.
Select the Mini overlay tab and toggle on Enable mini overlay:
When to show the mini overlay
Choose when you want the overlay to display during a visit session:
| Option | How it works |
| Show overlay first |
The overlay displays full sized until the visitor closes it by clicking the X button. When closed, it stays onscreen as a mini overlay. |
| Show mini overlay first |
The mini overlay displays onscreen and only 'maximises' when the visitor clicks on it. If the visitor closes or minimises the full sized overlay again, it becomes a mini overlay. |

As this is all your visitors will see when the overlay is minimised, treat it as a CTA and make sure it's attention grabbing enough to encourage clicks:
Background
Set a background colour for your mini overlay - this only affects how the overlay looks when minimised:
Position
Choose where to place your mini overlay on the screen.
You can round the corners of the input box by entering a pixel value in the Round corners field - this sets the curvature radius.
