If you send emails to recipients in France or Italy, tracking whether they open them now requires consent separate from their marketing consent.
France published guidance on this in April; Italy’s rules applied from 29 October. You can read about the changes in more detail here.
What we’ve built
We’ve added the ability to collect open-tracking consent, set consent rules by country, and stop tracking contacts who haven’t consented.
This is available on all accounts now, but nothing changes until you enable a country in your channel settings.

As the controller of your contacts’ data, decisions about tracking are yours. This isn’t legal advice – please check your approach with your own advisers.
Questions? Speak to your customer success manager, or email dpo@ometria.com about the regulation.
