Include 'add to calendar' link in an email

Add to calendar links allow your email recipients to add an event directly into their calendar so they can set up their own reminders and avoid conflicts.

You can include Add to calendar links in your email via ICS file (AKA iCalendar), or with a web link.

Code the ICS file as default

As the ICS file works for all email clients and devices, we recommend using this as your default.

You'll need to host this file somewhere, e.g. your eCommerce platform. These file types can't be uploaded to Ometria's asset manager. 

Once the file is hosted, copy the URL.

Add your links to the email template

Open the template you want to change in the visual editor and add a CTA button block. 

Paste the URL into the "{{ url }}" field:

Save your changes and continue building the rest of your template.

When a recipient receives your email they'll be able to click the link to download the ICS file, which they can then add to their calendar.
