This article provides some guidance on incremental testing for your broadcast campaigns with coupon codes.

You'll need to make sure your team members are added as contacts in your Ometria account so that you can segment on them and send tests.
Assign coupon codes to everyone in a campaign
Create a segment which includes everyone in your team. Exclude one user as a 'control':
Next, create a coupon pool - if you're a Shopify user, you can create one for each of your stores.
See: Sending coupons from multiple Shopify stores
Now set up a broadcast campaign using that coupon pool.
Include only the contacts in the team segment you created earlier.
When adding the coupon pool, select Send coupons to all contacts:
Schedule and send your broadcast email.
Expected outcome
Everyone in your team segment should receive a new coupon code from the pool you created.
The contact you excluded should not get a coupon code assigned.
Remind contacts of their coupon code
Use the segment you created in the first test to create a new broadcast campaign with the same coupon pool as before.
This time, include your 'control' contact (the one excluded from the previous campaign).
When adding a coupon pool from the Content tab, select Only re-send assigned coupons:
Use a template with the Hide redeemed coupons feature switched on for coupon blocks.
Schedule and send your broadcast email.
Expected outcome
Everyone in your team segment should see the same code they received in the first email.
The 'control' contact should not see the coupon block in their email.
Hide redeemed coupons
For this test, one of the contacts in your team segment should use the coupon code they received in the first test to place an order.
Once that's done, use the team segment you created in the first test to create a new broadcast campaign with the same coupon pool as before.
When adding a coupon pool from the Content tab, select Only re-send assigned coupons:
Use a template with the Hide redeemed coupons feature switched on for coupon blocks.
Schedule and send your broadcast email.
Expected outcome
Everyone in your team segment - except the contact who redeemed their coupon code - should see the same code they received in the first email.
The contact who used their code should not see the coupon block in their email.
Send a live test to a small segment
Create a small segment of non-VIP contacts.
We recommend sending to a low-risk group of contacts, for example:
- If you usually segment by lifecycle status, build a segment of lapsed contacts
- If you usually segment by email engagement, build a segment of unengaged contacts
- If you usually segment by customer value, build a segment of low value contacts
Save the segment.
Next, create a coupon pool - if you're a Shopify user, you can create one for each of your stores.

Now set up a broadcast campaign using that coupon pool.
Include only the contacts in the lapsed segment you created earlier.
When adding the coupon pool, select Send coupons to all contacts:
Schedule and send your broadcast email.
Expected outcome
Everyone in the segment will receive an email with a new coupon code from the pool you created.
Send a live reminder test to a small segment
Use the segment you created in the previous test to create a new broadcast campaign with the same coupon pool as before.
When adding a coupon pool from the Content tab, select Only re-send assigned coupons:
Use a template with the Hide redeemed coupons feature switched on for coupon blocks.
Schedule and send your broadcast email.
Expected outcome
Everyone in the segment who hasn't used the code yet will see the same code again.
Anyone who redeemed the coupon code will have the coupon block hidden from them.
