This feature is only available to Shopify Market clients.
You can choose to include personalised content based on a contact's Shopify Market region (store) in your email templates.
This means you don't need to create separate segments per store; Ometria automatically resolves products and URLs at the time of sending.
This feature applies to:
- Product selectors (price, currency, links, availability*)
- Product recommendation engines (price, currency, links, availability)
- Non-product links
Enablement
Please get in touch with your Customer Success Representative to request activation if you are an existing customer that is moving from Shopify to Shopify Markets.
For new clients, this will be the set up by default.
Market/Store relationship
Ometria ingests each region used within a market on Shopify as a dedicated store. These stores each inherit the corresponding Market it is associated with.
Note: For Global-E integrations, each store becomes an individual market on Ometria.
Personalising the store
Ometria resolves which market based data to use based on two hierarchical flows:
- First, if this is for an automation campaign triggered by visit, order, or basket data, Ometria uses the store from the triggering event (this is sent to Ometria via JavaScript tracking)
- If there's no automation involved, then the contact's home store is used as the market reference
At any point, if the value is null or the store does not exist, it falls back to the contact’s country. If the country cannot be found or is null, it uses the backup store data configured in Shopify.
Supported market data
The following market based data is ingested:
- Currency
- Price
- URL (constructed based on the default URL set up for each market in Shopify.)
- Availability
Example:
If the store is Brazil and the default domain is www.example.com/pt-br, then this URL will be used for all links related to that market.
Product blocks
Use any of the following blocks to display Products to resolve the store data automatically.
- Specified products
- Selected Products (now legacy but still supported).
You can just use this block to select your desired product and the system will update the currency, price, URL and availability automatically when sending the email.
Note: The Product Selector is still available if you wish to use manually select a store.
The Inactive flag will only display if the product is unpublished from all stores. If some stores still have an active product while others do not, then this label will not show.

Automation campaigns
When adding your send email action, select Use recipient's store.
Ometria will use the market region associated with each recipient.
If left unchecked, Ometria uses the store settings defined in the recommendation engine instance.
Broadcast campaigns
When adding your blocks to broadcast templates, select Use recipient's store.
Ometria automatically personalises recommendations based on each recipient's market region.
If left unchecked, Ometria uses the store settings defined in the recommendation engine instance.
Preview personalised stores
To see how content will appear for different stores, select the Preview tab in your template.
Choose a store from the Store dropdown:
Non-product URLs
When adding non-product links, use the following dynamic placeholder format:
{{ store_url }}
Example:
If your store URL is www.example-store/en-us/mens, add it as {{ store_url }}mens.
This ensures links resolve correctly for each contact's store.
Active/inactive filters
You can choose to filter inactive products from appearing in product and recommendation blocks based on status of each store. If there are no active products, then the email is still sent with the block collapsed.
Automation campaigns
In the Campaign settings: Select the Filter inactive products checkbox.
Broadcast campaigns
In the Campaign settings: Select the Filter inactive products checkbox
Product Recommendation
By default, inactive products are already filtered. However, if you wish to include inactive products then navigate to General settings: select the Include inactive products checkbox.
This option will then display on the Product Recommendation page creating a new/editing a profile and the Include inactive products checkbox will need to selected.
Market data source
You can override an Ometria store's market details (e.g. URL, currency, pricing, stock availability etc.) with those from a different store.
This means that if a contact's default store is a physical store without a catalogue or associated URLs you can link them to an alternative store instead and still send them personalised marketing messages.
Go to Settings > Stores and select the table view, then choose a market from the Market data source field.
Swym integration
If you're using Ometria's integration with Swym and want to support prices, currency and URL by market, you'll need to switch to Swym's Wishlist Plus plan.
Please get in touch with your Swym representative to find out more.
This Wishlist Plan plan supports market data for the following events:
- Wishlist
- Back in Stock
- Price Drop
Manually set personalised stores
If you prefer to use country instead of default store then you can set this manually in your template blocks:
- In product selector blocks you can select a specific store from the product selector dropdown.
- In product recommendation blocks you can deselect use recipient's store so that Ometria uses the store from the recommendation engine instead.
