Ometria’s integration with Yotpo product reviews means that your Yotpo reviews and rating data can be stored against your Ometria contact and product records.
The integration works by automatically importing both your historical (up to 7 days) and live contact data into Ometria, where you can use the data to personalise your campaigns and uncover new insights to inform your marketing strategy.
If you're currently using our integration with Yotpo reviews and ratings (via Patchworks), we recommend moving to this Ometria-native integration with Yotpo product reviews, which is simpler to use and set up.
Multi-store Yotpo reviews
If you have more than one store with Yotpo reviews and want all of that data in your Ometria account, you'll need to set up a separate connection for each store.
Before you begin
To get started with Yotpo, contact your Customer Success Representative.
Next, set up a Yotpo product reviews account.
You'll also need to create an API key in Ometria to set up your connection with Yotpo product reviews.
Setting up your integration with Yotpo product reviews
In Ometria, go to Settings and select the Connections tab:
Click Add new connection, then select Yotpo product reviews.
The Ometria authentication screen displays.
Click New authentication.
Enter the API key you created at the beginning of the process:
Select Create.
The Yotpo Reviews Authentication screen displays:
Click New authentication.
The Create a new authentication pop-up displays:
Change Your authentication name if you wish. This name will help you identify any other Yotpo accounts you might have added in Ometria.
Add the App Key and Secret Key you will find in your Yotpo product reviews account > General settings.
Click Create.
Once the authentication is successful, select Finish.
Your Yotpo product reviews connection is set up.
Data passed to Ometria
Ometria retrieves two types of data from Yotpo product reviews:
- Custom fields - fields you create manually in Ometria.
- Default fields - fields that already exist in Ometria's database.
Create your custom fields
Once your Yotpo product reviews connection is set up in Ometria, you'll need to create the custom fields below for retrieving the data.
You only need to create the fields that you think will provide value to your marketing strategy.
Follow the steps in Create a custom field to set up the following:
Category |
Field title |
Field ID |
Description |
Type |
Example |
Contact |
Yotpo latest review rating
|
yotpo_latest_review_rating |
The rating a customer has assigned to a product in the most recent review. |

Yotpo latest review date |
yotpo_latest_review_timestamp |

Default fields
Field |
Description |
|
The email address the lead provides in the “email” field in your ad. |
Collection |
This field is for API GET request purposes and does not display in Ometria. It refers to the collection the contact belongs to - in this case, 'yotpo_review'. |
Testing your integration
Once the integration is live and you’ve created the custom fields in your account, check that the fields are being correctly populated by going to Customer > Segment explorer and selecting the Contacts tab.
Ometria will ingest your historical (past seven days) data and you should see it coming through shortly after your integration is active.
Use cases
Email content
Add star ratings to your product blocks in abandoned browse, post purchase and price drop campaigns, as well as product recommendations for automation.
You can also add start ratings to the product selector block in both broadcast and automation campaigns.
User-generated content (UGC) is one of the most effective strategies to increase click-through rate and ultimately lead to conversion.
You can use star ratings in any template product block except product recommendations for broadcast.
Ometria uses custom fields at product level, (not customer level as described above) to retrieve this data. These fields come directly from Yotpo and are automatically created in Ometria once your integration is live.
If you'd like to use these fields in your templates, contact your Customer Success Representative and specify the following:
- The block(s) you'd like to use the star ratings in.
- Any customisations required, e.g. font size, colour, etc.
- Whether you want to include a review alongside the rating - be aware that the template will only display the first review for each product, regardless of the content of that review.
Your CSM will then contact Ometria's Creative team.
Segmentation
Segment customers based on recent reviews and group your audience based on their score:
Promoters: contacts whose latest review is 4 stars or above:
Detractors: contacts whose latest review is 1 or 2 stars:
Use these segments to exclude detractors from broadcast emails or post-purchase campaigns:
Automation campaigns - Post-purchase
Exclude detractors from your post-purchase campaign by adding a segment at the top of your campaign flow with no follow-up action:
Automation campaigns - Review follow-ups
Set your entry trigger using the Yotpo latest review date custom field you created when you integrated with Yotpo.
Select the time when that action happened and will happen e.g. 'is today', in X days etc.:
Create separate segments for your promoters, passives and detractors and tailor a message to them.
You can even go further and divide the different NPS groups by customer value, e.g.:
- Promoters - high value
- Promoters medium value
- Detractors - low value, etc.
